I know all may thoughts on this song are muddled and mixed and heard to read. It just has more meaning then almost any other song. My fiance played it for me when we were at the coast one weekend and he sang it for me. But because this type of relationship is new to him, he worries that maybe he will overwhelm her but no matter what, he cant stop loving her and he just wants her to know that, that he will always love her, he remembers every moment they've ever shared (and will never forget them), he wants them to always be together and he is just trying to tell her that "I'm sorry, I cant change the way I feel, it will never change, please, forgive me for loving you as much as I do". He wants everything to be perfect for her. I think he hurts when he can't be with her/when she's gone ("this pain i'm going through"), every moment to him is amazing/something new/the most meaningful to him because he loves her so much ("still feels like our first night together"), and that no matter what, he is trying to tell her he will always be there and he will only ever want her. And this relationship is everything to him, it is his life, this girl, his girl is his life. It's not that he did anything to hurt her, its not that he left her, I think it just that he has never had a relationship that has meant this much.
